前言/Preface

This is a promise since 18th, Feb., 2025. I kept my promise.

朋友们,首先请允许我说一声抱歉。
Friends, first of all, please allow me to say sorry.

2025年首届 PANDA Cocktail Game 的冠军奖励——中国之旅,本应更早完成,而相关的旅程记录也迟迟没有整理出来。
The China trip promised as the prize for the first PANDA Cocktail Game 2025 should have been completed much earlier, and this report should have been written long ago.

在异乡创业,并不如想象中那样轻松。很多事情都需要从零开始,一步一步摸索前行。
Building a business abroad is never as easy as it sounds. Many things must start from zero, and every step requires patience and persistence.

有一段时间,我甚至担心自己无法兑现这个承诺。
At one point, I was even worried that I might not be able to fulfill this promise.

幸好,在许多朋友的帮助之下,这趟中国之旅最终得以成行。
Fortunately, with the support of many friends, this journey to China finally became possible.

而这次旅程的同行者,是来自義大利Puglia的调酒师 Luca
My companion on this journey was Luca, a bartender from Puglia, Italy.

他带着好奇与勇气,与我一同踏上了一段关于 白酒、川菜与文化交流 的旅程。
With curiosity and courage, he joined me on a journey exploring Baijiu, Sichuan cuisine, and cultural exchange.

某种意义上,这让我想起了近千年前从威尼斯出发前往东方的 Marco Polo
In a way, it reminded me of Marco Polo, who once left Venice centuries ago to explore the East.

只是这一次,我们探索的不是丝绸,而是 味觉与文化
Only this time, what we explored was not silk, but taste and culture.

当然,我也必须向 Luca 说一句抱歉。
At the same time, I must apologize to Luca.

我带他去了中国最辣的地方。
I took him to the spiciest region of China.

在四川,“不辣”这个词有时候并不可靠。
In Sichuan, the phrase “not spicy” can sometimes be dangerously misleading.

Day 1 2月4–5日

Amsterdam → 成都 | Amsterdam → Chengdu

Luca 在夜晚抵达 成都天府国际机场
Luca arrived at Chengdu Tianfu International Airport late at night.

我提前一小时到达机场等待。
I arrived at the airport an hour early to wait for him.

飞机落地仅仅四十分钟,他就已经提着行李从国际到达口走了出来。
Only forty minutes after landing, he appeared at the international arrival gate with his luggage.

那一刻,我终于松了一口气。
At that moment, I finally felt relieved.

这意味着,这趟旅程真正开始了。
It meant the journey had truly begun.

由于我离开中国几年,驾照已经过期,新駕照正在更新,我们只能搭乘 成都地铁前往我父母家附近。
Since my Chinese driver’s license had expired during the years I lived abroad, and it is under the process of renewal, we took the Chengdu Metro to my parents’ neighborhood.

这段旅程大约 75公里,花费 90分钟
The journey was about 75 km and took around 90 minutes.

在地铁上,我告诉 Luca:
On the metro, I told Luca:

成都地铁6号线的长度约 69公里,比欧洲许多所谓“最长地铁线”还要长。
Metro Line 6 in Chengdu is about 69 km long, longer than many so-called “longest metro lines” in Europe.


成都的家庭欢迎
A Chinese Family Welcome

回到父母家附近后,Luca 很快感受到了中国家庭的热情。
When we arrived near my parents’ home, Luca quickly experienced Chinese hospitality.

我父亲见到他的第一句话是:
The first thing my father asked him was:

“抽烟吗?”
“Would you like a cigarette?”

紧接着,他拿出了四川最好的绿茶——
Then he brought out one of Sichuan’s finest green teas—

清明前嫩芽茶Pre-Qingming spring tea buds.

与此同时,我母亲已经端来了水果和各种零食。
Meanwhile, my mother had already prepared fruits and snacks.

这是非常典型的中国家庭场景。
It was a very typical Chinese family scene.

简单、热情,却充满温度。
Simple, warm, and full of kindness.


成都夜市
Chengdu Night Street

安顿好酒店之后,我们前往 电子科技大学小吃街
After checking into the hotel, we went to the famous University of Electronic Science and Technology night food street.

这里是成都最具烟火气的地方之一。
It is one of the most lively food streets in Chengdu.

对于很多欧洲人来说,这样的地方总会产生一个问题:
For many Europeans, such a place raises a question:

吃?还是不吃?
To eat, or not to eat?

但 Luca 展现出了真正的探险精神。
But Luca showed true curiosity.

Luca尝试了许多当地小吃。 Luca tried many local snacks.

这一晚,最终以一份精致的 舒芙蕾 收尾。
The night ended with a beautifully made soufflé.


Day 2

乐山与自贡
Leshan & Zigong

第二天,我们正式开始 11天的 Road Trip
The next day, our 11-day road trip officially began.

第一站是 乐山大佛
The first stop was the Leshan Giant Buddha.

觀賞大佛之前,我們一起吃了樂山著名的小吃:燒賣和豆腐腦。
Before visiting the Giant Buddha, we stopped to enjoy two of Leshan’s most famous local snacks: Shumai and Doufunao, a delicate savory tofu pudding.

这座佛像高 71.6米,始建于公元713年。
The statue is 71.6 meters tall, begun in the year 713 AD.

它不仅是一尊宗教雕像,也是中国古代工程智慧的结晶。
It is not only a religious statue but also a masterpiece of ancient Chinese engineering.

下午,我们驱车前往 自贡
In the afternoon, we drove to Zigong.

自贡是一座非常特别的城市。
Zigong is a very special city.

它以三件事闻名:
It is famous for three things:

  • 盐井 | Salt wells
  • 恐龙化石 | Dinosaur fossils
  • 以及令人敬畏的辣味 | And fearsome spicy food.


你知道哪一盤是“絕對不辣”的嗎? Do you know which one is assolutamente non piccante?

晚餐我们吃了 子姜兔
For dinner we had rabbit with young ginger.

当地朋友告诉 Luca:
Local friends told Luca:

“绝对不辣。”
“Absolutely not spicy.”
"Assolutamente Non Piccante."

事实证明,这句话对意大利人来说非常危险。
It turned out this sentence can be dangerous for an Italian.

第二天早上,Luca 学到了一个新的中国经验。
The next morning, Luca gained a new cultural experience.


自贡灯会
Zigong Lantern Festival

晚上,我带他去了 自贡灯会
In the evening, I took him to the Zigong Lantern Festival.

数万盏灯点亮了整个夜晚。
Tens of thousands of lanterns illuminated the night.

Luca 一边参观,一边和母亲视频通话。
Luca walked through the festival while video-calling his mother.

虽然我听不懂意大利语,但我能听出他的惊叹。
Although I couldn’t understand Italian, I could hear the excitement in his voice.


Day 3 2月7日

自贡 → 泸州
Zigong → Luzhou

经过自贡辣味的“洗礼”之后,我们继续南下前往 泸州
After the fiery culinary experience in Zigong, we continued south toward Luzhou.

泸州在中国白酒世界中有着极其重要的地位。
Luzhou holds a very important position in the world of Chinese Baijiu.

这里是 浓香型白酒最核心的产区之一
It is one of the most important regions for strong-aroma Baijiu.

而对我来说,这座城市还有一层更深的意义。
For me personally, the city carries an even deeper meaning.

我的白酒酿造师父 陈清明大师 就在这里。
My Baijiu master, Master Chen Qingming, lives here.


在中国传统文化中,师徒关系如同父子
In traditional Chinese culture, the relationship between master and apprentice is almost like that of father and son.

因此在泸州有一个不成文的规矩:
Therefore there is an unspoken rule in Luzhou.

Luca 可以住酒店,但我必须住在师父家里。
Luca could stay in a hotel,but I had to stay in my master’s home.

这是传统,也是尊重。
It is tradition, and also respect.


我已经两年多没有回中国。
I had not returned to China for more than two years.

在欧洲推广白酒的道路依然漫长。
Promoting Baijiu in Europe has been a long and challenging journey.

我心里其实有很多话想对师父说。
I had many things I wanted to tell my master.

但现实是:
But the reality was simple.

师父不会英语,Luca 不会中文。
My master does not speak English, and Luca does not speak Chinese.

所以很多事情,我们只能简单总结为一句话:
So many things could only be summarized in one sentence:

白酒出海,任重道远。
Bringing Baijiu to the world is a long road.


晚上,我们与师父一家人一起吃 牛肉火锅
In the evening we shared a beef hotpot with my master’s family.

这是一顿非常温暖的家庭晚餐。
It was a warm family dinner.


Day 4 2月8日

泸州
Luzhou

这一天,我们参观了 泸州老窖博物馆
That day we visited the Luzhou Laojiao Museum.

这里展示了中国白酒几百年的酿造历史。
It presents centuries of Baijiu history and craftsmanship.

我向 Luca 解释了白酒的核心工艺:
I explained to Luca the core process of Baijiu production:

发酵窖池
Fermentation cellars

蒸馏工艺
Distillation

以及勾调艺术
Blending artistry

对白酒来说,勾调不仅是技术,更是一种审美。
For Baijiu, blending is not only technique but also an aesthetic art.


夜晚的 Speakeasy

酒吧入口被一家咖啡店和烘焙房巧妙地隐藏起来。 Its entrance is cleverly hidden behind a café and bakery.

晚上,我们来到一家非常特别的酒吧做客座:
In the evening we guest shifted in a very special bar:

这是一家 Speakeasy
It is a speakeasy bar.


那天晚上来的客人非常特别。
The guests that night were also special.

不仅有泸州本地酒友,
There were local spirits enthusiasts,

Luca presented his signature Baijiu Cocktail to Soy-Sauce Flavor Baijiu Blending Master Zhao

甚至还有从 贵州仁怀(茅台产区)开车近 300公里 来尝试白酒鸡尾酒的朋友。
and even some friends who drove from Renhuai, Guizhou, almost 300 km away, to taste Baijiu cocktails.

他们喝完酒之后,又连夜开车回去。
After tasting the cocktails, they drove back the same night.

Day 5 2月9日

泸州 → 成都
Luzhou → Chengdu

这一天我们参观了 泸州老窖乾坤酒堡
That day we visited Qiankun Wine Castle of Luzhou Laojiao.

在那里,我们体验了 白酒勾调
There we experienced Baijiu blending.

我们使用了不同年份的基酒:
We worked with base spirits of different ages:

  • 5年(花果香) | 5-year (floral & fruity)
  • 10年(层次感)| 10-year (complexity)
  • 20年(厚重感)| 20-year (depth)


Luca 用自己的味觉逻辑调配了一款白酒。
Luca blended his own Baijiu based on his taste preferences.

在这个过程中,他逐渐意识到:
During the process he realized something important:

白酒与西方烈酒的逻辑完全不同。
Baijiu follows a completely different philosophy from Western spirits.

下午,我们开车返回成都。
In the afternoon we drove back to Chengdu.

抵達成都之後,根據Luca的朋友的推薦,我們訪問了成都一家極具特色的雞尾酒吧茶不多。
After arriving in Chengdu, we followed a recommendation from one of Luca’s friends and visited Cha Bu Duo(Almostea), a cocktail bar known for its distinctive character.

在這裡,所有的雞尾酒都有使用四川原產地茶萃取液。
At this bar, every cocktail incorporates tea extracts made from teas grown in Sichuan, giving each drink a distinctive regional character.


Day 6 2月10日

成都 → 新都 → 广汉 → 绵竹
Chengdu → Xindu → Guanghan → Mianzhu

早上,我们去了 成都大熊猫繁育基地
In the morning we visited the Chengdu Panda Base.

Luca 终于见到了真正的大熊猫。
Luca finally saw real giant pandas.


之后我们在新都与家人一起吃 烤鸭
Later we had roast duck with family in Xindu.

随后参观了著名的 宝光寺罗汉堂
Then we visited the famous Baoguang Temple Arhat Hall.

这里有 五百多尊罗汉雕像
It contains more than 500 arhat statues.

下午,我们体验了成都著名的 盖碗茶文化
In the afternoon we experienced the traditional Gaiwan tea culture of Chengdu.

阳光洒在茶馆的院子里。
Sunlight filled the courtyard of the teahouse.

时间仿佛慢了下来。
Time seemed to slow down.


下午,我們繼續北上,來到 廣漢三星堆博物館
In the afternoon, we continued north to the Sanxingdui Museum in Guanghan.

三星堆是中國考古史上最令人震驚的發現之一。
Sanxingdui is one of the most astonishing archaeological discoveries in China.

這裡出土的大量青銅面具與神像,距今已有 三千多年歷史
The bronze masks and statues unearthed here date back more than 3,000 years.

它們的造型非常獨特:
Their appearance is strikingly unique.

  • 巨大的眼睛 | Large protruding eyes
  • 誇張的面部輪廓| Exaggerated facial features
  • 神秘而充滿想像力的造型 | Mysterious forms full of imagination.

許多學者認為,三星堆代表了一個與中原文明不同的古蜀文明。
Many scholars believe Sanxingdui represents an ancient Shu civilization distinct from the central Chinese tradition.

對 Luca 來說,這是一場真正的文化震撼。
For Luca, it was a truly astonishing cultural experience.


傍晚,我们驱车前往 绵竹
In the evening we drove to Mianzhu.

这里是 顺屯白酒的诞生地
It is the birthplace of Shuntun Baijiu.


Day 7 2月11日

绵竹
Mianzhu

这一天,我们参观了 剑南春酒厂的酿造车间
That day we visited the Jiannanchun distillery workshops.

當然,參觀酒廠之前,一定是先來一碗綿竹著名的羊肉米粉。
Naturally, before heading to the distillery, we started the morning with a bowl of Mianzhu’s famous lamb rice noodles.

我向 Luca 解释了:顺屯白酒采用的是五粮浓香工艺。
I explained to Luca that Shuntun Baijiu follows the traditional five-grain strong-aroma process.


下午,我们在 绵竹年画村46号咖啡馆 举办了一场分享活动。
In the afternoon we hosted a sharing event at No.46 Café in Mianzhu New Year Painting Village.

主题是:

我们制作了 六款白酒鸡尾酒
We prepared six Baijiu cocktails.

  • Bols Liqueurs

许多客人第一次喝到白酒鸡尾酒。
Many guests tasted Baijiu cocktails for the first time.

他们的反应几乎一致:
Their reaction was almost identical:

“原来白酒可以这样。”
“I never knew Baijiu could taste like this.”


Day 8 2月12日

川菜师门与 Guest Shift
Sichuan Culinary Heritage & Guest Shift

这一天对我来说非常特别。
This day was particularly meaningful to me.

早上,我们去了 老四川公馆菜
In the morning we visited Old Sichuan Mansion Cuisine Restaurant

主厨 黎云波师叔 属于我的川菜师门体系:
The chef, Master Li Yunbo, belongs to my Sichuan culinary lineage.

程盛德 → 谢怀德 → 黎云波
Cheng Shengde → Xie Huaide → Li Yunbo

当天到场的人包括:
Those present included:

  • 谢怀德师爷 | Grandmaster Xie Huaide
  • 王治龙师父 | Master Wang Zhilong
  • 黎云波師叔 | Master Li Yunbo
  • 多位师兄弟 | Several apprentices
  • 谢师爷已经接近 80岁|Grandmaster Xie is nearly 80 years old.

黎师叔现场展示了两道经典川菜:
Chef Li demonstrated two iconic Sichuan dishes:

  • 鸡豆花|Chicken Tofu
  • 宫保鸡丁(糊辣小荔枝味)|Kung Pao Chicken (traditional spicy-sweet style)

午餐时,我向师父和师爷表达了歉意。
During lunch, I apologized to my masters

我说,在欧洲推广川菜和白酒的道路依然很慢。
I told them progress in promoting Sichuan cuisine and Baijiu in Europe is still slow.

谢师爷说了一句话,我会记一辈子:
Grandmaster Xie said something I will remember forever:

“川菜没有尽头。推广川菜,是一辈子的事情。”
“Sichuan cuisine has no end. Promoting it is a lifelong mission.”


成都丽思卡尔顿 Guest Shift

晚上,我们在 成都丽思卡尔顿酒店 举办 Guest Shift。
That evening we hosted a Guest Shift at the Ritz-Carlton Chengdu.

我们准备了 6款白酒鸡尾酒
We presented six Baijiu cocktails.

很多客人第一次尝试白酒鸡尾酒。
Many guests tasted Baijiu cocktails for the first time.

他们惊讶地说:
They said with surprise:

“原来白酒可以这样玩。”
“I didn’t know Baijiu could be used like this.”

Day 9–10

西安
Xi’an

Luca travels at 240km/hr on a Chinese Bullet Train.

随后,我们乘坐高铁前往 西安
Later we took the high-speed train to Xi’an.

訪問了很有意思的P.O.P Bar。
Visited interesting cocktail bar P.O.P Bar.

参观了世界著名的 兵马俑
We visited the famous Terracotta Army.

那里的游客数量再次让 Luca 震惊。
The crowds amazed Luca once again.

Day 11

成都家庭晚宴
Chengdu Family Dinner

回到成都后,旅程进入尾声。
Back in Chengdu, the journey approached its end.

Luca 来到我父母家参加家庭晚宴。
Luca joined my family for dinner at my parents’ home.

他见到了我几乎所有的亲戚。
He met almost my entire family.

这是一种非常典型的中国体验:
It was a very typical Chinese experience:

家庭、食物、热闹。
Family, food, and laughter.


Day 12

成都 → 阿姆斯特丹
Chengdu → Amsterdam

2月16日,我送 Luca 去机场。
On February 16, I took Luca to the airport.

他带着两个箱子离开中国。
He left China with two suitcases.

一箱装着白酒與川菜的記憶。
One filled with Memories of Baijiu and Sichuan Cuisine.

另一箱装着一群來自中國西南的中國人的故事。
The other filled with stories of a group of Chinese from Southwest of China.

结语
Epilogue

这趟旅程不仅是一场旅行。
This journey was more than a trip.
